April Favorites: 6 Amazing Products and Websites

· These products and websites gave me life this past month! ·

I can’t believe we’re already one week into May! Can I be honest with you? April was a loooonnng month for me. You may have noticed that it’s been a little quiet around here. I’ve been doing an elimination diet hoping to fix some stomach pains I’ve been experiencing. With that said, making (almost) every meal I eat every day from scratch has been a little exhausting. I’m so glad to back today with my April Favorites! Note that this post contains affiliate links. There is no additional cost for you to purchase through them, and they help to keep the site free!

At the beginning of each month, I’ll share my favorite products from the previous month. Nothing is off limits – beauty, lifestyle, food, websites – if it’s made my life easier or happier I’m going to share it with you. Hopefully, you’ll find some new favorites too! Let’s dive into my April Favorites.

April Favorites

Thrive Market

I honestly wouldn’t have survived the past month without my Thrive Market subscription. Not only have I scored health products I already buy for cheaper than in the health store (like coconut aminos, coconut oil, and supplements), but I’ve been able to experience some new items that I’m now addicted to.

I haven’t been able to eat any grains, vegetable or canola oils the past month, so most prepackaged snacks have been out of the question. I’ve really learned to enjoy eating fruits and vegetables, but, sometimes you just need a good ol’ crunchy snack! Thanks to Thrive market, I’ve been able to enjoy gluten free, grain free snacks like tortilla chips made from cassava root, almond crackers (seriously so good!), sweet potato chips and sesame crackers.

You can search their website through lifestyle (paleo, gluten-free, etc), and a complete list of ingredients is on each product you click on. Shipping is free on all orders over $49. There is a subscription fee (like Costco or Sam’s Club), but they guarantee that you’ll save the amount of your subscription fee each year, so that’s a huge bonus.

Click here to sign up and receive 25% off your first order! If you decide you want to cancel, you just let them know in the 30 days following your first order and you’ll never pay the subscription fee.

Homemade Apple Cider Vinegar Toner

I was one of those teenagers that had clear skin for the most part. It was great. After I hit my 20’s, I started developing red bumps all over my cheeks. They weren’t zits, and my face was constantly red. I eventually was diagnosed with rosacea and have tried just about everything under the sun to help alleviate the symptoms.

The past couple of months, I’ve started making my own apple cider vinegar toner. Sound a little crazy? I thought so at first too. The pH of the vinegar is similar to the pH of your skin, so the vinegar actually helps to rebalance your skin. Although I still have redness and pustules, they are definitely not as bright red and swollen as they were in the past. Hallelujah!

I’ll do a post on this soon! If you do decide to give it a try in the meantime, make sure to not use a strength more than 50/50 vinegar to water, and make sure to test a small patch to make sure you don’t have a sensitivity to it!

Poshmark

Ok, so this has been one of my favorites for a while now but I have to include it in my April Favorites since it’s the first time! If you’ve never heard of Poshmark before, it’s an online marketplace where you can buy and sell new and gently used clothing, accessories, and (new, un-swatched) makeup.

Have a top that you bought, never took the tags off and wore? Way past the return policy of the store? Then list it on Poshmark! I’m actually insanely guilty of that scenario, and I’ve been able to sell these items and recoup all of my money! Conversely, you can find gently used items for amazing deals. My most recent purchase was a pair of ASOS high rise boyfriend jeans with embroidery for $20-30 cheaper than I would have got them from the ASOS website.

If you’re completely new to Poshmark, download the app here. Sign up with code ADAIRINGLIFE to receive $5 off your first order! Make sure to check out my closet while you’re at it! You can also use their website, but especially if you’re selling, the app is easier and faster. You’ll be addicted in no time!

Clairol Root Touch-Up Concealing Powder

Ya’ll. My roots are in need of some serious help right now! I can’t decide if I want to keep my current combo of color melt and balayage or go a little lighter for the warmer months. So the Root Touch-Up Concealing Powder from Clairol has been a real life saver this past month.

It comes in a compact with a brush that you use to apply the color directly to your roots. At first, I was taken aback, because it looked just like an eyeshadow, even down to having a slight shimmer. I later discovered the shimmer helps light to reflect off your hair so it doesn’t look matte, and has a more natural look.

It truly does a great job of blending my natural hair color into where my color starts. And this stuff stays! As I mentioned in my How to Use Dry Shampoo like a Boss post, I’m not an every day hair washer. The touch-up powder stays until my next shampoo! Added bonus: it can also be used to fill in your eyebrows. I even use it to fill in my recession line at my hairline. This girl loves a top knot, but it’s starting to wear on my hairline! Gotta love a dual purpose product! Click here to purchase.

*note, I received this product free for review from Influenster. All opinions expressed are my own.

Big Sexy Hair Powder Play by Sexy Hair

This is another that’s been a favorite of mine for a while. Some people call it “backcomb in a bottle.” It’s a little shaker of a fine powder. Simply shake it on your roots, rustle with your fingers, and enjoy enhanced volume and texture. I also like to use it in the ends of my hair or in braids for a voluminous, piecy look.

If you follow me on Instagram, I recently posted about how I literally took my hair down out of a scrunchie, sprinkled Powder Play in it and rustled it around. The result? Hair with plenty of volume and body, with the perfect amount of mermaid, beach texture. What could be better than that? Look for a tutorial coming soon for how I use it 3 different ways! Such a great product to have in your hair styling arsenal. Click here to purchase.

Tressa Color Maintenance Watercolors Shampoo

Sorry, not sorry, for making this post so hair centric! As I mentioned earlier, I have some alburn and copper balayage. It’s a rich, deep color when I first get it done, and then it fades to more of a coppery tone. I’ve been able to extend the time between my color sessions because of this amazing shampoo.

They have several colors to choose from, and if you’re a redhead like me, there are even several shades of red to keep your locks nice and fiery. I use the Liquid Copper Shade. My hair hasn’t been professionally touched up since October! Bam! So good! Seriously the best way to keep your red hair red. Here’s a link to the color that I personally use. They have lots of others (including purple for your blondies), so make sure to search around for the color you need.

That hair powder sounds amazing! My hair is fine and flat, but it sounds like this would help give some volume.
